Club Med Ixtapa with a 2 and 5 year old
We spent a great week in Ixtapa, our first Club Med experience but it won't be the last. We liked the smaller resort and atmosphere as it was easy to move around and get from place to place which is very important when walking with a 2 year old!
Our 5 year old spent a few days at the kids club, and we liked how easy it was to do partial days and pick / choose activities based on his interests (or mood..). They do a good job of keeping them busy and engaged with lots of new experiences. All of the GOs were very friendly and accommodating.
The room set-up was ideal with a separate kids sleeping area, this meant we could bring our 2 year old back for afternoon naps in a quiet environment. They also had strollers available which helped when carting kids and gear to the pools.
The food was exceptional and offered something for everyone. The hardest thing was getting our 5 year old to eat something substantial before running to the desert table.
A special shout out to the water sports group (especially Paulo) as they went above and beyond to help us especially on our last day there.
Hope to come back soon!

First time but not our last!
We had a fantastic experience at Club Med! The shuttles to and from the resort were seamless. The fact that they checked us in right at the airport was genius. We have never had that happen before. The setting of the club is idyllic. Club Med basically has the whole beach to itself. There was usually no problem getting a lounger under a palapa however it got busier near the end of our stay so I would recommend the staff watch for people who reserve early but don’t show up. The food was abundant and varied and honestly very good. There is only one a la carte restaurant but because there was so much variety everyday we did not mind this at all. The drinks were also really good. The bartenders took their jobs quite seriously and took pride in making great cocktails. Also, this is the first time I actually liked the wine in Mexico. The wide range of sports and activities is excellent. There is something for everyone. And the equipment is actually in good working order and of good quality. The G.O.’s are very enthusiastic to teach you as well. In particular, a shout out to Dylan at the pickleball and tennis courts. He was very patient and knowledgeable and inclusive. I went to pickleball everyday and my husband went to tennis daily and we both loved our experiences. Bruno was always ready to go on the power walk in the morning with a ready smile on his face. Franco and Paolo at the water sports area were very friendly and you could tell they wanted you to enjoy your experience on the water. Astrid was excellent at reception as was Luciana. Perennially upbeat Luna seemed to be everywhere and always made time to interact. His grasp of different languages is a real asset. Issam was friendly and genuine and has the best smile for everyone. I would say the sports and activities along with the enthusiastic attitude of the G.O.’s really sets Club Med apart.

Great for a multi-generation family gathering
This was an extended family get together. Across our multiple families, our oldest was 77. Our yougest was 4 months. We had 11 kids 8 years old and younger, and 22 other adults. This facility was PERFECT for our group. It was able to accommodate everyone's needs across food, activities, amenities, ambiance, and informal "just being there" and hanging out for dining, activities, the pool and the beach, and other activities. For a family get together like this, it would be hard to beat this location.

Disappointed. Not the club med I know.
After many years going to club med as a young single person to a mother with 3 children and now as a couple, I was disappointed for the first time. The hotel itself was dated but the reason we go to club med is for the energy that the GO team bring and there was none of it. The chef of village was no where to be find apart from the odd walk by apparences. The sports and activities were still all there and great but no energy. It just wasn’t the club med I know.

We just keep coming back!
We cannot say enough positive things about this place for families who love to stay active during vacation. There is something for everybody. Personally, I love the tennis and I hope this does not change... I've heard they took tennis away at the Cancun Club Med given all the pickleball demand...not the right move. The staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating. Shout out to the tennis and trapeze teams who were top-notch and of course to the kitchen staff who make such delicious food.
