Kiroro Grand Japan

Lou is a great yoga instructor!! I’ve done everyday yoga with her in different style while I was at Club Met Kiroro. She is the best!!

Firstly, we absolutely love Kiroro Grand and cant wait to go back.

Mainly it’s due to the whole skiing at Kiroro, the group ski classes and especially for kids. It is however due to luck on the instructor you get. I was unlikely on Day 1, with a Jap coach with limited English. I was lucky on Day 2 to get Ebbe from Denmark who taught skills! Then on Day 3 morning, so many ppl with 14 pax and hardly any coaching so me and another team mate from the day before, ditched class and went to practice ourselves on Asari Panaroma which was beautiful. Then, afternoon we lucked out to join the senior Club 2 under Gerry who really pushed ur skills to the next level. He was superb, teaching and challenging you.

I must say the bar team was my highlight, they entertained my requests for their specialty drink, and always with a smile! Shoutout to Dolphin, Ferry, Louis and Sheriff!

Another shoutout to Perla who despite management pressures to upsell, made my girl’s 10th birthday special with the table setup! Also to Sam, the F&B manager!

Also to housekeeping who helped retrieve my daughter’s watch that fell in between the sofa bed and ledge.

The only disappointing thing was the upselling which totally cheapens the club med experience. The point of all-inclusive is not to be harassed during vacation. Moreover, your upselling model also is questionable. The dinner at Ogan, the selection of complimentary meat was so sad that it totally would not entice to purchase any premium meat.

Instructors – Adults
Ebbe, Gerry, and Emil were all great, especially Ebbe and Gerry. Ebbe takes his job very seriously and is extremely patient, while Gerry is funny and easygoing.

Instructors – Kids
We really appreciated Martin, Lucas, Harry, Archie, and the whole team. For the Petit Club, Jess took wonderful care of my younger kid.

Food & Beverage
Food and drinks remain excellent as always.

Family Events
The family events were great.

Boutique
The boutique is lovely. Inés and her team are warm and sweet.

Areas for Improvement

· Cleaning – Needs improvement; currently feels very basic.
· Front Desk & Reception Operators – They call at hours that are too early and are not thoughtful or helpful enough.

We had a wonderful stay at Club Med and are very happy with the overall experience. The room was clean, spacious, and very comfortable, which made it perfect for our family.

The food was another highlight — there was a great variety of options, and everything we tried was delicious. It was easy for everyone, including our kids, to find something they enjoyed.

The ski lessons were excellent. The instructors were patient and professional, making the learning experience fun and enjoyable. Our kids especially loved their instructors, Kei and Hunter, who made the lessons even more memorable for them.

We also want to give a special mention to Hinako, who guided us during the Sleigh and Snow Fun activity. She was very nice and friendly, and made the experience even more enjoyable for our family.

Overall, it was a very satisfying stay and we would definitely consider coming back again!

Kiroro Grand is the newest of the three Hokkaido Club Med Ski resorts we've visited. The rooms are the nicest across the three properties. Ski equipment was well-maintained with a seamless fitting experience.

Kids Club was large but ran efficiently and felt more organised than Tomamu. Food variety and quality sits slightly below Sahoro and Tomamu, but remains very good overall. Tip: If you want decent coffee, skip the restaurant machines and go to the barrista at the bar counter.

A note for parents during high season: the younger ski classes (Panda and Tiger) are PACKED and can be overwhelming. Once your children progress beyond those levels, instruction quality is decent and advancement is quick. The instructors are incredibly high energy and great at managing kids on the slopes.

For adult classes, ski instructor Sergei was worth calling out - across four consecutive days, he progressed our group from Club 1 to Club 2 through systematic teaching — he explains the reasoning behind each technique before asking for execution, checks comprehension individually before progressing, tracks every student's form simultaneously, and delivers real-time feedback while leading the group downhill. He manages to give more attention where needed, without lowering the standard for anyone.

From the perspective of a ski beginner genuinely petrified of heights — if you have the opportunity to be placed in his group, consider it a privilege to learn from a technical expert.
